Since 2007 Salazar has financially supported primarily "one teacher" schools in the zone, addressing needs highlighted in consultation with parent’s committees, teachers and national educational agencies. Curimining has also instigated and supported an annual Painting Competition to foster local artistic talent, awarding grants to some of the prize winners.

Separately, tours of the project area and an introduction to geological exploration and development for residents, school pupils and university students have been developed. Since 2011 visits have been organised for students, teachers, and family members of the schools from local communities; officers and employees of public and private companies; members of civil society organizations; directors and members of organization groups and farmers; mayors and councilors of local governments; and local, provincial, regional and national authorities, giving special priority to the citizens of San Luis of Pambil, Las Naves, Quinsaloma, Echeandia and Ventanas.

In June 2019 Curimining established a cooperation agreement with the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (Espol), a leading technical university in Ecuador.  The joint focus will be  to develop academic and technical projects on process innovation, social responsibility, and the generation and application of knowledge.
