El Gallo Anomaly

The El Gallo prospect is located in the south of the Las Naves Central area at the Curipamba project.  It is considered to be a mega-breccia with an estimated true width of 15m-20m and striking northwest-southeast. About 60% of the mineralization consists of brecciated polysulphide clasts of galena, sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, covelite, and sulphosalts of silver and barite. The 40% of the breccia fragments are 5 to 10cm, 20% 15 to 40cm, 10% are silicified clasts and 30% polymictic tuff with red argillitic alteration.

Examples of surface channel sampling completed in 2007 include:

  • 17m of 11.2 g/t Au, 505 g/t Ag;
  • 10m of 12.13 g/t Au and 235 g/t Ag;
  • 12m of 7.09 g/t Au and 299 g/t Ag.

The phase 1 drill program targeting the El Gallo anomaly was completed in Q1 2008 and consisted of 598 meters in 5 drill holes.  The company believes the results are significant and will follow-up on the initial encouraging results with a targeted phase 2 drill program later in 2008 upon clarification of our mining tenure.  The El Gallo anomaly was intersected at surface, and remains open in all directions.

Significant results from the El Gallo drill program include:

  • 6.95 meters with 4.51 g/t gold and 157 g/t silver from drill hole 15;
  • 8.25 meters with 5.80 g/t gold and 66 g/t silver from drill hole 16 and,
  • 4.6 meters with 9.45 g/t gold and 338 g/t silver in drill hole 17.
