El Domo Anomaly

The recent potential VMS discovery at the El Domo anomaly, Las Naves Central, Curipamba project is the highest priority follow-up for the company at this time. Three drill holes have been reported to date (#39, #42, and #46) from this new discovery all intersecting massive sulphides.  Drill hole #45 is pending.  The potential ore body has been expanded to over 300 metres in length and remains open in all directions. True width of the body appears to range from 4 metres to 15 metres as it pinches and swells. The potential and grades reported to date are significant.

In regards to the recent Mining Mandate announced by the government of the Republic of Ecuador, the project and this discovery is not in an area affected by‘protected area status,’ nor does this target exemplify an open-pit mining scenario, these being major considerations of the Mining Mandate. The project’s concessions are in good standing and all environmental permits were accepted by the current government. When clarification about the Mining Mandate is received, the company will focus all efforts back to this area with the goal of delineating this new discovery.

The El Domo anomaly was identified by the ground geophysics program from an induced polarization anomaly. The amplitudes are consistent with very high chargeability and low-resistivity values, which are characteristic of semi-massive to massive sulphide bodies. Drill results to date have confirmed this interpretation.  The anomaly is clearly observed in the data over an aerial extent 400 metres in length and 250 metres in width. It also appears to broaden at a depth of 120 metres.

El Domo is located 800 metres north from the El Gallo anomaly (reported drill results include 4.57 metres grading 9.45 g/t gold, 337.82 g/t silver, 0.20% copper, 0.23% lead, and 0.25% zinc); and, 400 metres south from the Roble 1 anomaly (reported drill results include 62.15 metres averaging 0.20 grams per tonne gold; 4.2 grams per tonne silver and 0.70 per cent zinc).

El Domo drill results:

Drill hole 39 reported grades:

  • 12.4 metres (not true width) grading 4.54 per cent zinc, 1.20 per cent copper, 3.62 grams per tonne gold and 51.75 grams per tonne silver.

Drill hole 42 reported grades :

  • 8.6 metres of 7.53 per cent zinc, 1.78 grams per tonne gold; 48.0 grams per tonne silver; 0.9 per cent copper and 0.52 per cent lead; and,
  • 9.6 metres of 0.81 gram per tonne gold, 30.7 grams per tonne silver, 0.10 per cent copper, 0.36 per cent lead and 1.13 per cent zinc.

Drill hole 42 is located approximately 120 metres north from drill hole 39.

Drill hole 46 was the fourth drill hole completed at the El Domo anomaly. Massive sulphide mineralization predominant in chalcopyrite and sphalerite was intersected from 50 metres to 66 metres (minus 60 degrees dip) for a total intersection of 16 metres (not true width). The company has intercepted massive sulphides in all drill holes targeting the El Domo anomaly (No. 39, No. 42, No. 4 and No. 46 – drill hole #45 not reported to date), and with this latest success (#46) the mineralized body has been extended for 300 metres and remains open in all directions.

The Company has planned a total of eight drill holes on the El Domo anomaly as a follow-up to this discovery hole.  These drill holes will be completed once clarification regarding the Mining Mandate is achieved.  The anomaly is the thirteenth identified in the Las Naves Central area defined by an area approximately 2 kilometres x 1 kilometre.
